...the days of wine and roses

They are not long, the weeping and the laughter,
Love and desire and hate:
I think they have no portion in us after
We pass the gate.

They are not long, the days of wine and roses:
Out of a misty dream
Our path emerges for a while, then closes
Within a dream.

~ Ernest Dowson, Vitae summa brevis spem nos vetat incohare longam (1896)

Dustin

Austin

Lacey

Charlotte

There exists many sides to a photograph.  When untitled, your imagination is as free as a feather dancing in the wind - as the emotion of that moment in your life lets you tell the scenes story in your own private world of thought.  The real story seems inconsequential after that moment.

The Buddy System Doesn't Apply Here ~

Lacey's Lucifer and Gabriel all wrapped up into one feisty calico.  Charlotte and Austin... what can I say... from wild to teddy bears they are easily two of the sweetest cats to have ever graced the inside of my home.

Lacey doesn't see it that way, and Charlotte lives in my studio behind a gate to save her from the wrath of that spitfire.  Lacey, somewhat smaller compared to Austin, complains and mouths him when he head butts her.  Their interactions border just this side of aggression.

And Dustin, well... Dustin is Dustin.  He answers to any of the cat names, my name, as well as his own name, so he's got all bases covered.

  7. You have such sweet furry souls with you .. I had an amazing calico that traveled with us to Holland and back to Canada .. She had the spirit of a warrior .. my other cta loves had such individual personalities it would take a book to explain .. but I love seeing others with such care taken for them .. beautiful photos !
